Post to Host CACC Softball Championship for First Time

Four 2027 First-Round Winners to Vie for Conference Crown in Waterbury

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (August 11, 2026) – Post University has been chosen to host the 2027 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Softball Championship tournament. The four-team, double-elimination final round of the event will be held from May 13-15 at LaMoy Field on the Post campus in Waterbury, Conn.

The tournament will begin with eight teams, as determined by the regular-season standings. The CACC Championship gets underway with four best-of-three series on May 8-9, each hosted by the higher seeds. The winners of those four series will advance to Post for the remainder of the tournament.

While Post has served as the site for several conference tournaments in other sports, the Eagles will be hosting the CACC Softball Championship for the first time.

The University of Bridgeport is the event’s defending champion, ending Wilmington University’s three-year championship run with its 2026 tournament victory at Wilmington. The winner of the 2027 CACC Championship once again automatically qualifies for the NCAA Division II East Regional Championship tournament.

Admission for all days, including first-round play, of the championship is $10 for adults and $5 for children, students, and senior citizens. The CACC Network will also provide live coverage of all games.
