NEW HAVEN, Conn. (December 4, 2025) – Wilmington University leads the men’s standings following the fall athletics season in the race for the 2025-26 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Alfred R. Restaino Sr. Cup, CACC Commissioner
Dan Mara announced today.
The Restaino Cup is handed out based on institutions’ performances across all CACC championship sports, with one Cup awarded for each gender. The point system used considers each program’s finish in both the 2025-26 regular-season standings and conference championship tournaments. Each school’s point total is compared to the number of points it was possible for it to earn, and the standings are based on that percentage.
The award is named after the late Bloomfield College coach and director of athletics
Alfred R. Restaino Sr., who served a vital role not only in the development of Bloomfield’s athletics department, but in the enhancement of the CACC. Restaino was inducted into the CACC Hall of Fame in 2015.
Wilmington earned 85.14 percent of possible men’s fall season points, powered by a conference championship in golf. The Wildcats also finished second in cross-country and reached the CACC semifinals in soccer.
Lifted by its tournament championship and runner-up regular-season finish in soccer, the University of Bridgeport sits second in the standings at 80.00 percent. Post University, assisted by the regular-season soccer title and runner-up results in both the soccer and golf tournaments, is third with 67.57 percent.
Wilmington has won the men’s Restaino Cup following 15 of the last 16 academic years.
