Wilmington on Top of Fall 2025 Women's Restaino Cup Standings

Defending Champion Jefferson Second in Race for CACC All-Sport Supremacy

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (December 4, 2025) – Wilmington University leads the women’s standings following the fall athletics season in the race for the 2025-26 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Alfred R. Restaino Sr. Cup, CACC Commissioner Dan Mara announced today.

The Restaino Cup is handed out based on institutions’ performances across all CACC championship sports, with one Cup awarded for each gender. The point system used considers each program’s finish in both the 2025-26 regular-season standings and conference championship tournaments. Each school’s point total is compared to the number of points it was possible for it to earn, and the standings are based on that percentage.

The award is named after the late Bloomfield College coach and director of athletics Alfred R. Restaino Sr., who served a vital role not only in the development of Bloomfield’s athletics department, but in the enhancement of the CACC. Restaino was inducted into the CACC Hall of Fame in 2015.

Wilmington earned 85.45 percent of possible women’s fall season points. The Wildcats were powered by conference championships in tennis and soccer. They also finished second in cross-country and shared the regular-season South Division title in volleyball.

Lifted by a conference cross-country championship and the regular-season crown in soccer, Thomas Jefferson University sits second in the standings with 78.18 percent of available points. The University of Bridgeport, the 2025 CACC volleyball champion, is third at 65.91 percent.

Wilmington has never won the Restaino Cup on the women’s side. Jefferson has claimed the last four and owns 12 overall.
