Jefferson Baseball Ranked 19th in Nation by NCBWA

Rams Receive National Recognition for Second Week in Row

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (March 20, 2025) –Thomas Jefferson University is ranked No. 19 in the most recent National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association NCAA Division II Top 25 poll, dated March 19. Jefferson is the only member of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference among the Top 25.

The Rams (13-6, 5-1 CACC) are nationally ranked for the second consecutive week, having moved up from their No. 25 spot in the March 12 poll. Jefferson, led by 15th-year head coach Pat Horvath, is second in the CACC in both team batting average (.311) and team earned-run average (4.60).

Jefferson has won 9 of its last 11 games. The Rams are next in action on Mar. 24 at No. 7-ranked West Chester University.

Jefferson is the top team in this week’s NCBWA D-II East Region Poll, and is one of three CACC programs in the regional top 10. Goldey-Beacom College (12-6, 2-0) holds the No.5 spot, and Wilmington University (10-7, 2-0) sits at No. 10.

 

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its affiliation with NCAA Division II. Conference institutions compete for championships in 18 sports – eight for men, nine for women, and one co-ed. The CACC contains 12 members in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Membership includes Bloomfield College of Montclair State University, the University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican University New York, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
