PHILADELPHIA (March 8, 2025) – North Division No. 2 seed Post University and North No. 3 seed University of Bridgeport will meet in the final game of the 2025 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men’s Basketball Championship tournament. The contest will be hosted by Thomas Jefferson University on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Gallagher Athletic, Recreation and Convocation Center.
Bridgeport and Post advanced with semifinal victories over the tournament’s top seeds on Saturday night in Philadelphia. The Purple Knights began the evening with a 92-79 win over North No. 1 seed Dominican University New York. The Eagles followed with an 85-78 overtime triumph over South No. 1 Jefferson, the event’s predetermined host and defending champion. Sunday’s winner will not only be named CACC champion but will earn the conference’s automatic berth into the NCAA Division II East Region Championship tournament.
Bridgeport is in its third year as a CACC member and is playing in its first CACC championship game. The Purple Knights last won a conference title in 2015 as a member of the East Coast Conference. Post, meanwhile, seeks its second CACC title and its first since 2003.
Tickets to the 2025 CACC Men’s Basketball Championship final are $10 for adults and $5 for children, senior citizens (65+) and students with valid identification. Bridgeport (18-12) led by as many as 14 points during the opening period before settling for a 41-35 halftime edge. The Purple Knights quickly stretched that advantage to 55-41 and were up by as many as 19 points on three occasions. UB shot 53 percent from the field and held a 48-37 rebounding edge. Amadou Traore (8-9 FG) scored 17 points in 14 minutes and Malikai Delgado had 16 points for a balanced Bridgeport offense. The Chargers’ Chance Morrish netted 19 points and Isaiah Honis had 16 points and 10 rebounds. Dominican (20-8), the No. 5-ranked team in the East Region, awaits Sunday night’s D-II Men’s Basketball Selection Show.
No. N2 POST 85, No. S1 JEFFERSON 78 (OT)
After recovering from a seven-point deficit during the final 6:23 of regulation, the Eagles (18-12) went 10 for 10 from the foul line during the overtime period. Deng Deang totaled 26 points, nine rebounds and four steals for Post, which amassed a 41-27 rebounding edge. Post’s Bol Akot scored 19 points. The Rams (16-13) received 23 points and six rebounds from Justin Hawkins and 18 points from Sean Fullerton.

Conference institutions compete for championships in 18 sports – eight for men, nine for women, and one co-ed.
