Felician Baseball Reaches Regional 2 Final; Jefferson, WIlmington Eliminated From NCAAs

Golden Falcons to Face Molloy; Winner Meets Franklin Pierce in Super Regional

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (May 19, 2025) – Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference at-large representative Felician University will play in the championship round of the 2025 NCAA Division II Baseball East Regional 2 Championship on Monday at Wilson Field in New Castle, Del. The No. 3 seed Golden Falcons will face Molloy University at 11 a.m. and will need one victory to win the tournament. No. 7 seeded Molloy would have to top Felician twice today.

Today’s winner will advance to play Franklin Pierce University later this week in the 2025 East Super Regional series.

On Sunday, Franklin Pierce defeated tournament host, East No. 1 seed and CACC at-large representative Thomas Jefferson University, 10-2, in the East Regional 1 Championship in Center Valley, Pa. Wilmington University, the 2025 CACC champion and the host of the East Regional 2 tournament, was eliminated from contention after falling to Felician and Molloy on Sunday in New Castle.

The Regional 1, hosted by Jefferson at DeSales University, was down to its final game. The No. 5 seed Ravens (34-20) took control early with six runs in the top of the second inning, and the Rams were limited to six hits in their attempt to mount a comeback. Joshua Lopez and Luis Beato Mora had two hits each and Thomas Matuszewski homered and scored both runs for Jefferson, which finishes 40-17.

Play at the Regional 2 began with Molloy eliminating No. 6 seed Pace University, 7-1. Felician (40-18) then used a 16-hit attack and a complete-game pitching effort from Sadier Vicioso to hold off the Wildcats, 10-6. The Golden Falcons went ahead to stay, with a four-run third. Felician, led, 6-5 after four innings before tacking on two in the fifth and seventh frames. Jose Medrano was 4 for 5 and Jaxson Wall had three hits and drove in three runs for Felician. Wilmington’s Josearmando Diaz went 3 for 4 with a home run.

Molloy (33-19) then overcame an early 3-0 deficit to win its second elimination game of the day by a 12-5 score. Ahead 5-4 after five innings, the Lions pulled away with a five-run sixth. Diaz and Brandon Grygo homered for Wilmington, which completes its season at 37-22.

Felician seeks its first super regional appearance.

 

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its affiliation with NCAA Division II. Conference institutions compete for championships in 18 sports – eight for men, nine for women, and one co-ed. The CACC contains 12 members in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Membership includes Bloomfield College of Montclair State University, the University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican University New York, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
