NEW CASTLE, Del. (May 19, 2025) – Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference at-large representative Felician University won the 2025 NCAA Division II Baseball East Regional 2 Championship tournament with a 6-5 victory over Molloy University in Game 2 of the championship round on Monday afternoon at Wilson Field. Molloy had forced a deciding contest with a 7-6 win over the Golden Falcons earlier on Monday. The event was being hosted by Wilmington University.
Felician, the No. 3 seed and the No. 30-ranked team in the latest national Division-II coaches poll, moves on to the East Super Regional Championship. The Golden Falcons will take on No. 5 seed and East Regional 1 champion Franklin Pierce University beginning on Thursday. The Ravens will host the series on their Rindge, N.H., campus.
Molloy, the East’s No. 7 seed and the champion of the East Coast Conference, won its third elimination game of the tournament when it topped Felician in Monday’s opener. Playing as the designated home team, the Lions ended the contest on a bases-loaded infield single with none out in the bottom of the ninth inning. The Golden Falcons had trailed 6-2 after six frames but fought back to tie the score. Luis DeLaCruz drove in three runs for Felician.
Felician (41-19) was the home team for the second game, which was tied, 4-4, after six innings. After Molloy scored a run in the top of the seventh, the Golden Falcons answered with two in the bottom half, with Christian Bauman driving in the go-ahead run with a two-out RBI single. Molloy (35-19) put its leadoff man on base in both the eighth and ninth but Felician relievers Andrew Gendi and Max Weber kept the Lions off the scoreboard. Chris Corchado was on base four times for Felician.
The current two-site format leading to a super regional debuted in the East Region in 2019. Felician is not only making its first super regional appearance, but its first appearance in any regional final in six trips to the NCAA Tournament.
