Jefferson and Wilmington Win CACC Baseball Thursday Openers; Felician Fights Off Elimination

Conference Championship Tournament Continues on Friday

NEW CASTLE, Del. (May 8, 2025) – Thomas Jefferson University and Wilmington University advanced to the winners’ bracket final of the 2025 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Championship tournament with victories on Thursday during Day 1 of the event’s four-team, double-elimination final round at Wilson Field. Later on Thursday, Felician University won an elimination game to also move on.

On Friday, South Division No. 1 seed Jefferson and South No. 2 and tournament host Wilmington will meet at 11 a.m. with the winner earning a date in Saturday’s championship final. The loser of that game will take on North No. 2 Felician for the other spot in Saturday’s championship round.

Thursday continued the offensive-minded trend from the tournament’s first-round series, as all three winners scored in double figures. Jefferson opened the action with a 10-3 win over Felician, and Wilmington followed by topping North No. 1 seed Dominican University New York, 22-8. The Golden Falcons returned to eliminate Dominican, 14-3.

Saturday’s championship round begins at 11 a.m. Should the team that emerges from the elimination bracket win, a second game would immediately follow. The winner of the 2025 CACC Baseball Championship will earn the league’s automatic berth into the NCAA Division II East Region Championship tournament.

Tickets for each day of the 2025 CACC Baseball Championship are $10 for adults, and $5 for children, senior citizens (65+) and students with valid identification. Children under three years of age will be admitted free. See the links above to follow the tournament online, purchase championship apparel, and buy tickets.
