GBC's Akor, Visinsky Headline Spring 2026 All-CACC Esports Teams

Honorees for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Marvel Rivals Announced

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (April 23, 2026) – Goldey-Beacom College headlined the Spring 2026 All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Esports Teams, which were released today by CACC Commissioner Dan Mara. Goldey-Beacom players captured the Player of the Season Award in both game titles and the Lightning led all schools with three players being named all-conference. Voting was conducted by the league’s head coaches.

GBC freshman Fidel Akor was selected as the Spring 2026 CACC Player of the Season in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Sophomore teammate Caleb Visinsky took the same honor in Marvel Rivals. Both players were also elected to the All-CACC Team of their respective game.

Akor helped head Goldey-Beacom to a runner-up finish in CACC play in Smash Ultimate. He led the Lightning in stocks taken during the spring season with 43 (in seven matches). Akor took 13 stocks during his team’s semifinal victory over Post University.

Visinsky and the Lightning won their second consecutive CACC Marvel Rivals championship, having also taken the Fall 2025 crown. GBC’s main duelist, Visinsky posted spring season statistics of 716 kills, 157 deaths, 24 assists, 381 final hits, 628K damage, 289K damage blocks, and 4K healing. He led his team in kills and final hits by wide margins.

Esports debuted in the CACC during the 2024-25 academic year. Fall 2025 was the first season after which all-conference awards were handed out.

Founded in 1961, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference has been affiliated with NCAA Division II for 20 years. Conference institutions compete for championships in 17 sports – seven for men, nine for women, and one co-ed. The CACC contains 11 full members in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Membership includes the University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican University New York, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
