Chargers, Wildcats, and Rams Still Ranked in East in Women's Lacrosse

Division II Selection Show to Follow CACC Championship Final This Weekend

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (May 1, 2026) – Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference members Dominican University New York, Wilmington University and Thomas Jefferson University remain among the eight teams listed in the latest 2026 NCAA Division II East Region Women’s Lacrosse Ranking, the NCAA D-II Women’s Lacrosse Committee released on Wednesday.

All three teams held their position from last week’s ranking - Dominican at No. 4 in the region. Wilmington at No. 5, and Jefferson at No. 7. The rankings for all four NCAA Division II regions can be viewed at https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/lacrosse-women/d2/regional-rankings.  

Dominican (14-3) and Wilmington (17-2) will meet in the CACC championship final on Saturday. The Chargers won the conference regular-season title and are ranked No. 19 in the most recent national Division II coaches’ poll. The Wildcats have lost only to Dominican and Jefferson this season. The Rams (13-5) finished second in the CACC regular-season standings but were defeated by Wilmington on Thursday in the league semifinals.

The NCAA will announce the 24-team field for the 2026 Division II Women’s Lacrosse Championship, including six from the East Region, on Sunday, May 3 at 8:30 p.m. on ncaa.com. The winner of the CACC Championship tournament will automatically qualify for the NCAA Tournament.

Founded in 1961, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference has been affiliated with NCAA Division II for 20 years. Conference institutions compete for championships in 17 sports – seven for men, nine for women, and one co-ed. The CACC contains 11 full members in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Membership includes the University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican University New York, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
