NEW HAVEN, Conn. (May 3, 2026) – Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference champion Wilmington University has been selected as the No. 4 seed from the East Region for the 2026 NCAA Division II Women’s Lacrosse Championship. Fellow CACC finalist Dominican University New York qualified for the tournament on an at-large basis as the East’s No. 5 seed.
The 24-team field for the NCAA D-II Women’s Lacrosse Championship tournament was announced by the NCAA on Sunday night. The selections of the Wildcats, who received the CACC’s automatic qualifier, and the Chargers mark the first time the CACC has placed multiple teams in the field.
Wilmington (18-2) and Dominican (14-4) will face each other in the tournament’s first round. The Wildcats and Chargers will meet on Thursday, May 7, at 2 p.m. on the campus of No. 1 seed Adelphi University in Garden City, N.Y.
