Wilmington Wins 16th Men's Restaino Cup

Wildcats Retain CACC's Award for All-Sport Performance

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (May 28, 2026) – Wilmington University is the men’s winner of the 2025-26 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Alfred R. Restaino Sr. Cup, CACC Commissioner Dan Mara announced today. Wilmington has captured the Restaino Cup on the men’s side for the fifth consecutive occasion and the 16th time in the last 17 academic years.

The Restaino Cup is handed out based on institutions’ performances across all CACC championship sports, with one Cup awarded for each gender. The point system used considers each program’s finish in both the 2025-26 regular-season standings and conference championship tournaments. Each school’s point total is compared to the number of points it was possible for it to earn, and the standings are based on that percentage.

The award is named after the late Bloomfield College coach and director of athletics Alfred R. Restaino Sr., who served a vital role not only in the development of Bloomfield’s athletics department, but in the enhancement of the CACC. Restaino was inducted into the CACC Hall of Fame in 2015.

Wilmington earned 75.00 percent of available points. The Wildcats were powered by conference championships in golf, lacrosse, and baseball and a runner-up finish in cross-country.

The Wildcats outdistanced runner-up Thomas Jefferson University, which won the CACC championship in cross-country and claimed 66.86 percent of available points. Goldey-Beacom College was third with 63.95 percent, including regular-season and tournament runner-up finishes in basketball and baseball.

The only year since 2009-10 after which Wilmington did not win the men’s Restaino Cup was 2020-21, when the Wildcats did not compete due to protocols coming out of the COVID-19 public health crisis. Concordia (N.Y.) College claimed the Cup that season.
