CACC Boasts Four 2026 Baseball All-Americans

Wilmington's Borgmann is a Consensus Choice at Relief PItcher

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (June 10, 2025) – Four Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference baseball players have earned 2026 Division II All-America honors, including three from CACC champion Wilmington University.

Headlining the award winners is CACC Pitcher of the Year and Wilmington right-hander Scott Borgmann, who was selected by all three of the major recognized D-II programs. Borgmann was the First Team relief pitcher of the American Baseball Coaches Association and was selected to the Third Team of both the Division II Conference Commissioners Association and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

Borgmann’s Wildcat teammate Chase Fleming was a First Team choice of the D2CCA at utility/pitcher. Dominican University New York outfielder Erick Diaz was voted onto to the ABCA Third Team, and Wilmington second baseman Tyler Pirrung attained D2CCA Honorable Mention All-America status.

Borgmann pitched in 20 games, all in relief, posting a 7-1 record and seven saves. He led the CACC in earned-run average (1.95) and opponent batting average (.191). In 60 innings he allowed 42 hits, struck out 85 batters, and walked 18.

Fleming was one of the nation’s top two-way players. He batted .376 with four home runs, 22 runs scored and 50 runs batted in. On the mound, he went 7-1 with a 3.11 ERA and a .197 opponent batting average, allowing 47 hits with 81 strikeouts and 21 walks in 63 2/3 innings.

Diaz is a repeat All-American, having also earned ABCA Third Team honors in 2025 for the Chargers. This season, he set the DUNY single-season record with 17 home runs. He batted .379 over 46 games with 52 runs scored, 48 RBI, and 21 stolen bases.

Pirrung was voted the CACC Player of the Year. In 56 games he batted .387 with 26 extra-base hits, 63 runs scored, 54 RBI and 41 steals.

 

Founded in 1961, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference has been affiliated with NCAA Division II for 20 years. Conference institutions compete for championships in 17 sports – seven for men, nine for women, and one co-ed. The CACC contains 11 full members in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Membership includes the University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican University New York, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
