NEW HAVEN, Conn. (December 10, 2025) – Holy Family University freshman Mia Wise has been named the 2025 American Volleyball Coaches Association Division II East Region Freshman of the Year, the AVCA recently announced.
The AVCA also released its NCAA Division II All-Region Teams, with three Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference players being voted onto the First Team – Alyssa Groves and Kristina Peric of Post University, and Wise’s Holy Family teammate Ava Kidd.
Wise, a setter, led the CACC and ranks 23rd nationally in Division II with 10.48 assists per set. She was also third in the conference in service aces per set at 0.52. The 2025 CACC Setter of the Year, Wise was a First-Team All-Region selection of the Division II Conference Commissioners Association. She and Kidd helped led the Tigers to the round of 32 of the NCAA Tournament.
Groves, Kidd, and Peric are consensus all-region selections after also being named to the D2 CCA squad earlier this month.
The NCAA Division II East Region consists of the CACC, East Coast Conference and Northeast 10 conference and contains 30 institutions which compete in women’s volleyball.
Founded in 1961, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference has been affiliated with NCAA Division II for 20 years. Conference institutions compete for championships in 17 sports – seven for men, nine for women, and one co-ed. The CACC contains 11 full members in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Membership includes the University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican University New York, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
