Post Earns First-Round CACC Men's Lacrosse Victory

Eagles Join Wilmington, GCU, CHC in Conference Semifinals

WATERBURY, Conn. (April 28, 2025) – No. 4 seed Post University completed a familiar-looking set of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference semifinalists by earning a 15-12 home victory over the University of Bridgeport in first-round action of the 2025 CACC Men’s Lacrosse Championship tournament on Monday afternoon.

Post joins the top three seeds – No. 1 Wilmington University, No. 2 Georgian Court University, and No. 3 Chestnut Hill College – in the semifinals. It marks the third consecutive year that those four teams will compete in the CACC men’s lacrosse semis.

On Wednesday, Wilmington will host Post at 3:30 p.m. in Newark, Del. At the same time, Chestnut Hill will travel to Lakewood, N.J., to face Georgian Court. The winners will meet for the 2025 CACC Championship on Saturday, May 3, at noon. The championship final will be hosted by Dominican University New York at O’Brien Field in Orangeburg, N.Y. For the first time, the winner of the CACC Men’s Lacrosse Championship will earn an automatic berth into the NCAA Division II North Region Championship tournament.

Tickets for all rounds of the 2025 CACC Men’s Lacrosse Championship are $10 for adults, and $5 for children, senior citizens (65+) and students with valid identification. No. 4 POST 15, No. 5 BRIDGEPORT 12
Hunter McCarty scored six goals with two assists and Ryan Denike recorded three goals and five assists to lead the Eagles (9-6). Post earned its third consecutive first-round victory, topping the Purple Knights (7-8) for the second year in a row. The Eagles amassed a 9-1 edge early in the second quarter, and were ahead, 15-7, midway through the fourth period. UB tallied the game’s final five goals before running out of time. Post goalie Aiden Waller made 13 saves. Matthew Levantini had five goals and an assist for Bridgeport.

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its affiliation with NCAA Division II. Conference institutions compete for championships in 18 sports – eight for men, nine for women, and one co-ed. The CACC contains 12 members in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Membership includes Bloomfield College of Montclair State University, the University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican University New York, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
